Admissions

FS construction

If your child is due to begin their school career in September, at the start of next academic year…

please make contact with the school and ask us to let you know when our open afternoon/evening is (usually towards the end of the autumn term). This gives you an opportunity to meet key members of staff and have a guided tour of the school. If you would like to speak personally to the headteacher, please let us know.

If your child is already of school age…

we strongly encourage you to contact the school in order to discuss your situation with the headteacher. You may like to make an appointment to have a look round.

After this, if you would like to apply…

you need to do so via North Yorkshire Council, who handle all school admissions. Their policies and procedures are outlined in detail on their website. Please follow the link below for further details and to apply for a place.

North Yorkshire County Council Admissions Policy

As a ‘Voluntary Controlled’ Church of England Primary School, the Local Authority are in full control of our admissions arrangements. This means that our school and its Governing Body do not make any decisions whatsoever as regards the selection of pupils who apply for a place at our school.

For a full breakdown of the admissions policy in use for our school, including:

  • the arrangements there are in place for selecting the pupils who apply
  • the oversubscription criteria (how the Local Authority offers places if there are more applicants than places)
  • an explanation of the process parents need to follow if they want to apply for their child to attend our school
